ABOUT LEE
Lee Abrahmsen is an acclaimed Australian soprano celebrated for her commanding artistry and exceptional vocal presence. Hailed as “a Valkyrie to the hilt… a voice of sheer, gleaming power” (Opera Magazine), she is widely recognised as one of the leading younger Wagnerian interpreters of her generation. Her acclaimed portrayals of Brünnhilde, Isolde, Senta, Elisabeth, Eva, and Sieglinde with Melbourne Opera have established her as a major force in this repertoire. Her Italian roles are equally admired, noted for radiant warmth, lyric generosity, and expressive clarity.With more than 45 principal roles performed nationwide, Lee has appeared with Opera Australia, major Australian symphony orchestras, Omega Ensemble, and at international venues including the Edinburgh Festival and St Martin‑in‑the‑Fields. A recipient of major national awards, her performances have been broadcast on ABC Classic FM and featured on Qantas In‑Flight Entertainment. She is also the founder of Italian Vocal Technique (IVT), dedicated to preserving and teaching the bel canto tradition.
