ABOUT LEE
Lee Abrahmsen is an acclaimed Australian soprano known for her commanding artistry and exceptional vocal presence. Hailed as “a Valkyrie to the hilt… a voice of sheer, gleaming power” (Opera Magazine), she is recognised as one of the leading younger Wagnerians of her generation, celebrated for her portrayals of Brünnhilde, Isolde, Senta, Elisabeth, Eva, and Sieglinde with Melbourne Opera. Equally admired in Italian repertoire, her Mimi, Violetta, and Tosca are noted for radiant warmth and expressive clarity. She has performed more than 45 principal roles across Australia and internationally, appearing with Opera Australia, major symphony orchestras, Omega Ensemble, and at venues including the Edinburgh Festival and St Martin‑in‑the‑Fields.A recipient of major national awards, her performances have been broadcast on ABC Classic FM and featured on Qantas In‑Flight Entertainment. She is also the founder of Italian Vocal Technique (IVT), dedicated to preserving and teaching the bel canto tradition.
